# What is 8-Bit Oracle?

The 8-BIt Oracle is a generative fortune-telling app, based on the I-Ching and can be found at [8bitoracle.ai.](https://8bitoracle.ai)\
\
On default, you ask a question, and a hexagram is randomly chosen. We closely mirror the yarrow stalk method in our code, with precisely the same probabilities for drawing each hexagram line. The hexagram meanings are interpreted by AI, and an inner monologue and response are generated.

You can switch to Chat Mode so that it is a normal chatbot, but the AI is still primed to respond as a wise sage who is very knowledgeable in the I-Ching.
